Make new friends but keep the old;
one is Silver and the other Gold.

That’s how the old song goes, and at St James our friendships both new and old are one of the best parts of being part of a Christian community. To continually celebrate this wonderful part of our church, we are starting a new tradition, Silver and Gold Events.

Silver and Gold Events are held in members’ homes and include 8 to 20 church members both new and old! Each Silver and Gold Event will have its own personality as each host will entertain in one of their favorite styles. It may be a “chicken on Sunday lunch”, or a “chili cook off party” or a “what’s on the grill party”! If you have joined the church since January 2006 or are joining soon you will automatically be invited to one or more Silver and Gold events! Never fear if your first Silver and Gold invitation is not convenient, just let your host know that you can’t come, and we will include you in a different event on a different date! If you are a long time (more than 14 months!) member and would love to host or meet and greet new members at a Silver and Gold event, please contact Anna Orr at 770-390-0918, annaorr@bellsouth.net, or the church office 404-261-3121. Be listening to the phone, watching your email and checking the mailbox. You never know when or how your opportunity for Silver and Gold might arrive!
