Worship Readiness helps our 1st and 2nd graders feel comfortable in "big" church and understand more about what's going on, bridging the gap from Extended Session to participating in Worship for the entire service. The format of the class is interactive with lots of discussion and participation. Some of the things we talk about are: What is the order of the processional? What do the candles stand for? What do our St. James shells mean? Why do we do what we do for Baptisms and Communion? Why do we see different colors in the church? Worship Readiness runs for 8 weeks: 5 weeks in the fall and another 3 sessions in winter. The program concludes its year with a special communion service for the children led by Reverend Jonathan Holston.
Worship Readiness meets immediately after Children's Moments in Room 113. Dates for the 2010-2011 year are:
